In the forums over at TechGuy.org one of their users give it a positive review saying that knowing your credit card number is safe is worth the $150 price tag.

Quote:

“Evidence Eliminator is a user friendly piece of software that is available for $150. I know, sounds expensive, but for a secure piece of mind, knowing that your credit card details are safe should you sell the drive on, its a small price to pay. ”
Search Warp also give it a positive review commenting on it’s effectiveness.

“With full support for Windows Vista, free and prompt e-mail technical support, a proven track record and the richest feature set in the business, there is little doubt Evidence Eliminator is the best file shredder available. Whether that warrants the $149.95 asking price is for you to decide. Our only minor gripe is that the marketing that has been used to sell the product has, in our opinion, been a little over-heavy on the scare tactics.”

This review from a user at tripod.com is a little out dated (2003), but they are very disgusted with EE and decided to create a whole page about it. Here their summery about what they found with Evidence Eliminator:

“Let’s face facts, folks: These people are seriously truth-challenged. I don’t know if they’d know truth if it lept up and bit them in the face. The truth of the matter is that what we have here is a perfectly acceptable little $39.95 disk cleaning product — being sold for $150 via claims which are at best exaggerated, at worst pure hokum and bunk and probably illegal under the Truth in Advertising act in the United States”
Conclusion:

Evidence Eliminator has mixed reviews about its usability and quality. Some sites love it, some hate it. It’s price – at $150 is one of the highest in the business and with that.. we recommend you save your money and go with less expensive software that is easier to use.
